The Holy Spirit As Female / Mother

I believe in the Holy Spirit,  Lord and Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son: Who together with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified: Who spoke by the prophets. And I believe one holy, Christian, and apostolic Church.
In the 'Gospel according to the Hebrews' Jesus infers to the Holy Spirit as 'My mother' and the earliest Christians - all of whom were Jews - spoke of the Holy Spirit as a feminine figure. Our journey is to rediscover the person, function and 'gender' of the Holy Spirit through the teaching of Jesus in Luke 11:1-13 and other proof texts, ranging from biblical and extra biblical text like the 'Gospel according to the Hebrews' to a number of testimonies from the second century. The ancient tradition was, in particular, kept alive in East and West Syria, up to and including the fourth century Makarios and/or Symeon, who even influenced 'modern' Protestants such as John Wesley and the Moravian leader Count von Zinzendorf. It is concluded that, by offering this model prayer Jesus was teaching his disciples  to embrace the fullness of the benefits of the Godhead. Therefore in the image of the Holy Spirit as woman and mother, one may attain a better appreciation of the fullness of the Divine.
